The Oakfield Centre is the flagship and an iconic space associated with (and at the centre of) the Oakfield Rise Retirement Village in Mt Barker - and not just for residences but for the wider community. The design and construction reflects this significance. 

The Oakfield Centre has an intense focus on the building's juxtaposition, connectivity, solar orientation, topography, and floor plan flexibility. The building performs multiple functions at different times and concurrently. Spaces within the centre include an entry/foyer, offices, gymnasium, library, games room, meeting rooms, lounge, dining, café, kitchen and external alfresco areas. 

The development of this Community centre was parallel with the Stage 3&4 developments.
